library wars 12We are now getting to the climax of this series, at least what I believe to be the climax of Library Wars. As Kasahara and Dojo actually seem to be going out on a date, they both get an alert that something major has happened and they are both needed back at the library!

In the near future, the federal government creates a committee to rid society of books it deems unsuitable. The libraries vow to protect their collections, and with the help of local governments, form a military group to defend themselves–the Library Forces!

Library Forces member Iku Kasahara has plans to go out for tea with her supervisor and secret crush, Dojo, but just figuring out what to wear puts her in a tailspin. When an urgent call comes in about an author seeking protection from the government, Iku realizes that the fight against censorship never takes a break!

In this book, we get to see what happens when an author is told that he inspired a terrorist attack because of what he wrote was used as a blueprint. He’s told to essentially stop writing or be sent to jail. As he seeks asylum at the library, we also learn that Head Librarian Eto has arranged for two henchmen to kidnap our author for the Future of the Library group, to turn him in essentially. As we watch Shibazaki manipulate not only Tezuka’s brother in order to gain an ally, we also see Dojo and Kasahara “act” as a romantic couple in order to throw the MBC agents off.

Tensions are running high as censorship starts coming to a head and Dojo and Kasahara do their jobs to keep the written word uncensored. What do you think is going to happen when author’s start to be censored? Do you think it’s a possibility? Comment below and let me know!
