Okay, just letting y’all know, this is a late post because I had an early shift at work this morning, but like I said I would, I’m letting you know how many of my snow day books I actually got through. I got through Beauty Beside Me and The Girl Who Heard Dragons. Whoo! Now, on to our regularly scheduled Friday post.

Love this series so much! I love how ardent Kasahara is about her job and if our world devolves in such a way that we need to have a Task Force for our own libraries, I will gladly volunteer!
In the near future, the federal government creates a committee to rid society of books it deems unsuitable. The libraries vow to protect their collections, and with the help of local governments, form a military group to defend themselves–the Library Forces!
Iku and Commander Inamine are abducted by Bakushu-kai terrorists, who demand sensitive material from the library’s protected collection in return for the hostages! Dojo is worried about Iku, his problem student with limited field experience. But what Iku lacks in training she more than makes up for in gumption, and she is not going to let library material go without a fight!
I think what I loved most about this volume was how well Iku was able to not only protect Commander Inamine but prove herself in the field when she was held back in the first place. Not only does she think quickly on her feet, but she’s able to get the information needed across to her squad and they are able to come to their efficient rescue. It was a great character to see Kasahara’s character growth and how well her training is kicking in.
What are some of your favorite character growths? How did they grow? Comment below and let me know!
