Thursday Threes: What I Love About Christmas
Hey guys! I’m back! And it’s another Thursday Threes and today we’ll be talking about three things I love about Christmas. I have just gotten back from visiting in-laws for Christmas and I was the one to actually cook Christmas dinner this year as my mother-in-law is not in the continental 48. It was interesting, but I can say I have done it! Anyway, three things I love about Christmas, in no particular order:
Spending time with family
For me, I have found out these past few months that spending time with someone is the best gift I can give and that they can give me. I don’t see my husband a lot during the week, so weekends and holidays are the best days as we then have more time together. Husband and I also had decided to not give each other gifts this year because we have all that we need/want, but we don’t have a lot of time together. So, that’s the best thing we could have done was to just spend time with each other.
Having time for myself
I also love having time for myself as well. I have a lot of time to myself in general, but I have things to worry about, like work! GAH! But with Christmas and holidays, the only thing I have to really worry about is what to eat, or what to make to eat. I don’t have to worry about work, or bills, or about this blog (yes, I do sometimes worry about this blog, I’m not an endless supply of ideas). I can just relax and play video games, or read books, or just enjoy doing nothing.
Time away from work
Don’t get me wrong, I love my work, I love working in a public library, but like just about every other human being on the planet, I don’t want to go to work. I don’t want to have to deal with people, I’m not a complete people person. So, holidays and specifically Christmas gives me the time I need away from work to not only decompress but to remember why I love my work. And it gets me ready for a new year and work week and to keep going forward when it feels like I’m completely stuck.
What do you guys love about the holidays? What happy fuzzies does it give you? Comment below and let me know!
