Thursday Threes: Spookish Books

Yes, another Thursday Threes and since it’s close to Halloween, in just a few days actually, and I figured this would be a good day to post about spookish books! Granted, I don’t scary movies, and scary/horror books tend to be a little worst as I imagine things vividly and that can end so so horribly for me. Nightmares…just, nightmares. Anyway, spookish books for Halloween!

  1. Uzamaki, Vol. 1 by Junji Ito. Moses…I was required to read this book throughout my graphic novel/manga class for library school. Most manga that I’ve read were not horror manga, but this one. My goodness, not my favorite it, but it is definitely good to read for a Halloween read.
  2. Behind Closed Doors by B.A. Paris. Wow! Now, this one I did enjoy and it was most thriller than horror, though there was still some horror bits in it. But the main premise is that the main character’s marriage looks perfect…from the outside. Something doesn’t feel right, but things seem to work out well for Grace. If you like changing times and trying to figure out what’s going on, then you should definitely read this one!
  3. Coraline by Neil Gaiman. Yes, this is a younger audience book, but if you’ve seen the movie, then you know that this is a truly Halloween book. Another Mother, a world that seems perfectly perfect, and a vanishing of parents. What else could go wrong?

I have read all of these books, they are the few that I consider spookish and Halloweeny enough for this post. I hope that you enjoy these! Do you guys read horror books around Halloween? Or do you read something a little less horror? Comment below and let me know!
