Thursday Threes: Three Trilogies I Enjoy

Yes, it is another Thursday Threes and today we’ll be talking about three trilogies that I have enjoyed reading. Trilogies seem to be a popular way to tell stories, especially in the young adult genre. This format of storytelling is not a bad thing, just stating that it’s popular. So, here are my three trilogies that I have enjoyed most recently.

  1. The Looking Glass Wars by Frank Beddor
  2. Harper Hall series by Anne McCaffery
  3. The Kane Chronicles by Rick Riordan

looking glass wars

These are three trilogies that I have enjoyed reading recently and in the past. The Looking Glass Wars I recently finished. It’s an Alice in Wonderland retelling and it’s one I would recommend if you’re looking for one that deals with Wonderland more than a girl thinking she’s crazy and in an insane asylum.

The Harper Hall series by Anne McCaffery is a small trilogy in her pantheon of Dragonriders of PERN series that focuses on a young girl named Menolly and her want to sing and create music. It creates tension with her family and you cheer for you. It’s a series that I’ll turn back to when I need a pick me up and a belief in girl power.

The Kane Chronicles, if anyone knows Rick Riordan, is a hilarious, almost retelling, of Egyptian mythology. Yes, there is the storyline of the Kane siblings having to save the world from the Egyptian apocalypse, but you also get the signature hilarity of Rick Riordan’s writing and how the Kane siblings figure out how to move through a new world where Egyptian mythology is real.

Overall, these are quicker reads, but they are fun reads! If you enjoy a fun read and a read that has some more story to it than just a stand-alone book, then these are the books I would recommend for you. What trilogies have you read that you enjoyed? Comment below and let me know!
