Thursday Threes: Three Soon to Be Released!

threes2Hi, again guys! Here’s my second new type of posts for this blog. Thursday Threes will be focused on three books based on a certain theme. For this first Thursday Threes, I’m going to be focusing on the three books I’m excited about that are coming out soon!

Three Soon to Be Released Books:

  1. An Absolutely Remarkable Thing by Hank Green
    1. The Carls just appeared. Coming home from work at three a.m., twenty-three-year-old April May stumbles across a giant sculpture. Delighted by its appearance and craftsmanship–like a ten-foot-tall Transformer wearing a suit of samurai armor–April and her friend Andy make a video with it, which Andy uploads to YouTube. The next day April wakes up to a viral video and a new life. News quickly spreads that there are Carls in dozens of cities around the world–everywhere from Beijing to Buenos Aires–and April, as their first documentarian, finds herself at the center of an intense international media spotlight. Now April has to deal with the pressure on her relationships, her identity, and her safety that this new position brings, all while being on the front lines of the quest to find out not just what the Carls are, but what they want from us.
  2. West by Edith Pattou
    1. When Rose first met Charles, he was trapped in the form of a white bear. To rescue him, Rose traveled to the land that lay east of the sun and west of the moon to defeat the evil Troll Queen. Now Rose has found her happily-ever-after with Charles—until a sudden storm destroys his ship and he is presumed dead. But Rose doesn’t believe the shipwreck was an act of nature, nor does she believe Charles is truly dead. Something much more sinister is at work. With mysterious and unstoppable forces threatening the lives of the people she loves, Rose must once again set off on a perilous journey. And this time, the fate of the entire world is at stake.
  3. Legion by Brandon Sanderson
    1. Stephen Leeds is perfectly sane. It’s his hallucinations who are mad.A genius of unrivaled aptitude, Stephen can learn any new skill, vocation, or art in a matter of hours. However, to contain all of this, his mind creates hallucinatory people—Stephen calls them aspects—to hold and manifest the information. Wherever he goes, he is joined by a team of imaginary experts to give advice, interpretation, and explanation. He uses them to solve problems… for a price.

Stephen’s brain is getting a little crowded and the aspects have a tendency of taking on lives of their own. When a company hires him to recover stolen property—a camera that can allegedly take pictures of the past—Stephen finds himself in an adventure crossing oceans and fighting terrorists. What he discovers may upend the foundation of three major world religions—and, perhaps, give him a vital clue into the true nature of his aspects.

Yes, two of these books are already out, as of today, but I’m still looking forward to them and they are ones that I definitely want to read.

For An Absolutely Remarkable Thing, I had been excited for it since Hank Green announced that he was writing a book. I hadn’t read John Green’s newest book, but I have read the previous four. I’m excited to see how these two brothers write when compared next to each other. And the synopsis of the book sounds so interesting!

West is the second to a book I recently reviewed titled East, and I love East! It’s one of my favorite retellings and Rose, the main character is definitely one of my favorites. I’m just excited to see what Edith Pattou does with Rose and Charles and continuing their story.

Legion is one that dropped onto my radar just recently, but it’s by one of my favorite authors Brandon Sanderson! I’ve read all of his books that are based in the Cosmere, but for those that are outside of the Cosmere, I haven’t read enough to say if I like them or not. But this one has such an interesting premise that I’m looking forward to being able to read it at some point.

What are some books you are looking forward to? Why are you looking forward to them? Comment below and let me know!
