Queen Victoria’s Book of Spells: An Anthology of Gaslamp Fantasy by Ellen Datlow and Terri Windling

 ♦ ♦ ♦ ♦ ◊

queen victoriaI love steampunk fantasy, I love magic, and I love just about anything that will take me to that world. So, when you have many short stories that revolve around these things, I am good to go!

There are 18 different short stories that dip into Victorian England and the masses of magic, faeries, folklore, some fantasy, horror, and a little bit of the steampunk genre that we all know and love. Granted, with 18 stories there are probably going to be some that are not your cup of tea and there are going to be some you wish would continue or have more to it than just that little bit. Either way, if you enjoy reading any books about Victorian England and the possibly of magic and steampunk, I do believe you need to find this book and read it. It will be a quick read, but one that gives you a taste of the world of gaslamp fantasy and steampunk mythology.

What anthologies have you enjoyed reading? In what genre were they in? Comment below and let me know!
