March 30, 2018 by TinyNavajo

This is the last post day for me in March, so I’ll be going over the books I’ve read/listened to in March and how far I’ve come on my Beat the Backlist 2018 challenge.

This month, I read Libriomancer, A Wrinkle in Time, Code TalkerThe Book of Speculation, The Heartbeat ThiefThe Prince and the Dressmaker, Attachments, Gunpowder Alchemy,  The Letter, Sinful Cinderella, Ink and Bone, and A Natural History of Dragons, and listened to The Night Circus. Yes, there are a few books here that I’ve read that I’ve not reviewed yet; don’t worry, you’ll get those reviews soon I promise. Some of there were…interesting, others I truly enjoyed. I would have to say that I read a fair amount of diverse books, those still in my comfort zone for a lot of them.

But I did read more contemporary books than I normally would, which I am proud of! I would have to say that my favorite books this month though were probably Attachments, A Natural History of Dragons, and The Night Circus. The Night Circus will always be one of my favorites, especially the audio version. But I was pleasantly surprised to find how much I enjoyed reading Attachments. I’m not generally one for contemporary books, but I enjoyed it. I think it might be a favorite of mine; I’ll have to reread it at some point just to make sure though. Maybe next year.

It shouldn’t surprise many though, that I loved A Natural History of Dragons, it’s dragons, it’s historical fantasy-fiction, and it has a wonderfully strong female protagonist and it’s just a favorite of mine. I finally bought the second book for myself, so be on the lookout for the review on that one soon. As soon as I write the reviews for the rest of March. Now, is it just me or has March gone by really fast again? It’ll be April in two days…where is the year going?

What books have you read outside of your usual genre that you loved? Why did you love them? Comment below and let me know!
