Little MelbaSpread the word! Melba Liston was a girl born in the 1920s in the Kansas City Jazz scene. Music floated in and out of her life and at the age of 7, she picked up a trombone and took the jazz scene by force. The illustrations and the words pull you into Melba’s life and you realize that not you and her have gone through the same things; if Melba can make beautiful music out of it, you can also do anything. As the book follows Melba from her birth to her performance on the big stage, you see that Melba Liston was indeed, someone special. Spread the word! Melba Liston is a world-class trombone musician and she became a wonderful musician and composer.
